About me
this is the first time I've been given the ability to fully introduce myself in this space without character limits.
i'm not even sure people even read these pages.. but with that said, hello.
my name is Haley. I'm 27 years old, born and raised in the mitten state. i'm stubborn, strong-willed, and outspoken on things that matter to me.
it's likely that you know me for that very reason.
while it could end up being my tragic downfall, I've never been one to shy away from difficult conversations. but I believe I was meant to exist here at this exact time for a reason.
the world we live in has been grossly overrun with hatred, othering, and an overall lack of compassion for other humans simply attempting to exist the best way they know how. several of us live in a paradoxical country that prides itself upon its freedom, whilst simultaneously several humans freedoms are being stripped away daily. who would I be to stay quiet in the face of that?
i don't have a secret agenda. I don't have ulterior motives. I just want to live a great, beautiful, healthy life. I want to do what I love with the people I love until the air in my lungs runs out.
but.. I digress. this is about introducing myself, right?
let's get into it.
mixer
I started my streaming journey on mixer in 2019. I completely branded my entire channel after the "borderlands" game series, and you could imagine how successful that was.
(it wasn't)
don't get me wrong, i love the borderlands games. it still, to this day, is my favorite game series of all time. but unfortunately unless you're playing a widely popular game, you're not going to grow.
so naturally, i got myself caught up in a very support for support community. i was promised hosts of 100+ in exchange for time spent on the channel and supporting.
we know how that story goes, though. once you stop supporting, the people stop coming to your streams. and that's exactly what happened.
so needless to say, i wasn't getting myself caught in that kind of mess again. i had to re-evaluate my approach. the timing of this coincided with when mixer shut down their services.
twitch
boy.. did my time on twitch have loads of ups and downs.
with the switch to this platform came a re-brand. from that point on, i was UghHaley.
in the midst of the time i was on twitch, i was a twitch sings streamer, a valorant streamer, a music streamer, and a full-on indie game streamer. i also moved across the country and took a 9 month hiatus in that time.
twitch was my home for a very long time, and i have countless memories on this platform. i've laughed, cried, and celebrated accomplishments here. our community has grown EXPONENTIALLY in that time, and i love that i'm continually able to expand my reach with each day that i go live.
limitless
when i came back to streaming after my 9 month hiatus, i knew that this time around things would be different. i had tangible goals in mind, and i knew what i had to do to make it happen.
the first of those goals was to join Limitless.
limitless was a VERY young organization at the time, having only existed for about 5 months before i was brought on. but i saw a vision and a family. i saw an energy there that i've yet to see elsewhere.
so i grinded my ass off. i was researching ways to make my content more engaging, how to expand my content onto other platforms, and i also learned how to network.
i'm grateful it paid off. i spent the next year as a member of the organization, and also spent a great deal of time on the operations side of things. i was able to be a stream lead where i was a large part of the recruitment process and scouting new talent.
i'm forever indebted to limitless and the wealth of knowledge the experience brought.
shoutout to bigsyn, barbee, summer, jon, and nathan (and many others). can't wait to see where you take it.
respawn recruits
this recruitment challenge was a major turning point in my career for me.
respawn is a gaming furniture company that holds an annual recruitment challenge for their exclusive partnership program.
initially i wasn't sure if i would be able to do it. i thought i didn't have it in me, so i put off submitting an application video for a while. one day however, something clicked in my brain and i decided to send it.
i'm so glad i did. i met so many incredible people and was inspired by each and every one of them. creators who would otherwise be overlooked maybe because they're "small" are finally getting the opportunity and credit they deserve for their quality content.
and somehow.. i won. out of over 1,000 applicants, i won.
any doubts i had in my mind about my abilities or what i'm capable of were dashed. i did that shit. i manifested a win and did what i had to do to make it happen.
kick
i'm 1000% positive i'm glossing over a lot of details in my journey, but i want to keep this short and sweet and touch on the highlights.
i since have moved my live-streaming content to Kick. i was apprehensive, doubtful, and skeptical of whether this would be the right move. but regardless of who was on the platform, i knew deep in my heart that the only way to outshine the darkness is to bring light. to bring kindness. needless to say, moving my live streams to kick was the perfect move.
i know my character and i know who i am. i know what i stand for and what i refuse to stay silent on. that part about me will never change. and i'm so grateful to the folks who have continued their support no matter what.
this is an exciting journey, but it's only beginning.
as i'm typing this blurb, it is july 4th 2023. i'm not currently verified on kick, but i'm well on my way.
mark my words when i make my next update on this page, it'll be that i'm verified on kick. and you know my track record with determination.
i manifest that shit. i see what i want, and i get it.
if you've read this far, thank you.
i'll see you in chat. :)
